Hello, I live at The Supported Life Style Hauraki Trust and I am looking for a great staff member to work with me.
Here are a few things that I would like you to know about me:
* I love the outdoors, cows and riding horses are important to me.
* At my home I have a shed where I keep my tools, a garden where I grow plants and veggies, I mow my lawns and enjoy doing the weed eating. I also enjoy fishing.
* As a Support Worker you will be able to adjust your approach while supporting me, routine is important which includes gentle encouragement to support my motivation for the day’s activities.
* I use different modes of communication, which include visual cues and some signing. You will need patience as all days are different for me.
* I have important people in my life. My family, mum, dad, and my sister who I phone on a regular basis.

This role will:

  • Provide support to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, including intimate cares, assistance with meal prep and household tasks with some medication administration.
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages personal growth and development
  • Assist Life Stylers in community activities, social outings, and recreational activities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, whānau, and their Team Leaders to ensure coordinated care and well-rounded support.
  • Document Life Stylers progress, activities and any other incidents according to protocols.
  • Maintain a high level of empathy, patience, and understanding while addressing the unique needs of each life styler.
  • Promote independence and self confidence by encouraging life stylers to make choices and develop life skills.

About you:

Some experience in support work would be beneficial but not a must. You’ll have a desire to learn and grow within a supportive team environment.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all from the community. You are open minded, empathetic and love dealing with people.

You must have a full driver’s license and be able to clear our police and reference checking process.

You must be eligible to work in New Zealand

Social Worker

This role will be responsible for implement social work best practices promoting efficient, effective and safe clinical social work in line with Trust values.

About you:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     We are looking for someone who can provide a holistic service to assist Life Stylers in reaching their goals.

A good level of computer literacy and a strong commitment to the team is important to the role.

You will need to have a full registration and a current practicing certificate with SWRB (Social Work Registration Board) along with knowledge and experience in the Disability sector.

You will bring your understanding and knowledge of Tikanga Māori to the position. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all from the community is key.

You are open-minded, empathetic and love dealing with people. You must have a full driver’s license and be able to clear our police and reference checking process.

You must be eligible to work in New Zealand.

About this role:

Our welcoming environment is thriving and we now need a Manager of Services – Community to Provide leadership in supporting, facilitating, promoting and implementing the work of the Trusts Community spaces to achieve set achievement objectives, Offer leadership in building productive and proactive collaboration with the local communities Provide connection between Service Delivery, Operations and the Trust Community spaces to assist Life Stylers to achieve their goals. We are proud of the work we do in our community supporting our Life Stylers to live as independently as possible. This role is to ensure our Life Stylers get the best possible outcomes from our community service providers. This role will interact heavily with the community, staff and Life Stylers to achieve individual living goals so all can live their best lives. 

About you:

Ideally you will have experience working with Life Stylers and genuinely love getting the best out of people. You’ll understand how important the link to the community is in order to achieve Life Stylers goals. You’ll enjoy meeting community service providers and working with them to support the Trust.
